Let me describe typical RO system installation process ………
- Drill 1 or 2 holes
- Hook up your RO to cold water supply and drain
- Check for leaks
Every Reverse Osmosis System comes with instruction manual.
Just like anything else there are a few things that will save time and prevent use of foul language.
TIP #1

Do not get intimidated or scared. It might seem like it is very complicated process. Guess what? It is not. If Plumber can do it, you can do it.
If you ever ………
- Hung a picture frame or
- Changed a light-bulb or
- Changed a batteries in your TV’s remote or
- Set up your alarm-clock or
- Activated your iPhone
Than most likely you have enough IQ to install a RO system.
If you never done any of these, my friend, your best choice is to call a professional plumber or your neighbor for help.
But if you know a plumber that looks like this ………
I would call her regardless.
TIP #2

Get all the tools before starting the installation process ………
- Pliers
- Adjustable Wrench
- Flathead and Phillips screwdrivers
- Electric or Battery powered drill
- For specific drill bit and open end wrench sizes consult the manual
Most men own these very simple to use tools. If you don’t, check with your neighbor or neighborhood friendly home improvement store.
TIP #3

Read the entire manual. I know it is boring and pictures are not colored. But, each system is a little different and it might contain some useful information from manufacturer.
TIP #4

Avoid drilling holes if not necessary. Use the existing sink top hole for the spray hose or soap dispenser. If you are lucky enough to have a sink with a drilled or pre-punched hole in it, you will be done twice as fast.
TIP #5

To avoid leaks use vegetable oil on o-ring seals in your RO system.
